Retro Tag

This week at Retro Sketches, the sketch is actually a tag! I don't make that many tags (unless you count the insanity at Christmas), so I thought I'd give it a shot. You could absolutely put this onto a card as the focal point too.

Check it out:

It's still Crumb Cake/Real Red/Coastal Cabana week and I just love the way this tag turned out! You won't want to give it to just anybody, of course, with all those pearls on there...you have to be sure all your hard work will be appreciated!

I started off with Crumb Cake Base (2" wide) which I punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper. Then I added layers of Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper and stamped some images from Lacy and Lovely which I hand cut before adding to the tag.

The sentiment from Lots of Thanks was stamped in Real Red Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and notched before being added as the top layer.

What do you think?

Paper Crafts Crew - Red, White and Blue!

In keeping with our colour theme for the week, I used Real Red, Crumb Cake and Coastal Cabana one again. I must admit that I really do like it (and would probably use it even if it wasn't the UDI colour combination).

I started off with the idea of using all the images in the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set, but didn't like the way it was turning out, so I changed my mind and used the "a thousand thanks" sentiment and then added hearts from the Make a Cake Stamp Set. I just love, love, LOVE the way it turned out!

My card base is 5 ½" square and the Crumb Cake layer is 5 ¼". I didn't measure the other pieces, but they are 5 ¼" wide. :)

The images on the Whisper White cardstock were stamped freehand, but if you don't think you can get them on there fairly straight, then you might want to use your Stamp-a-majig.

You can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

Diva Birthday!

Good morning!! First off...scroll down. I cheated a little bit and posted the MOJO Monday today (Tuesday), but back dated it so it actually appeared on a Monday - LOL!

Today's colours were SO much fun! You'll see them again this week...pretty much every day in fact. I create in batches and tend to use the colours that I have out. Since I usually start with the Utah Divas Colour Inspiration, that's usually what I have out. :)

My card started off with a Crumb Cake Base which I scored and folded to create a 3 ½" x 5" base. Since we now carry Crumb Cake Note Sized Envelopes, this will coordinate perfectly!

I added a layer of Real Red Cardstock and then punched out several flags from the Fresh Prints Paper Stack and added them to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

My card was inspired by one Shelli did at Leadership during her Main Stage stamping presentation.

Merry MOJO Monday - Christmas Collectibles

Fresh Prints for Christmas? You bet!! There's Real Red and Crumb Cake in the stack and those are two great Christmas Colours! Check in out:

The Mojo Monday Card the week was tall and skinny. Since I created a 5 ½" square card for Wednesday, I decided to use the left over 3" x 11" piece of Real Red Cardstock. I LOVE the way it turned out! Of course, thanks to our Envelope Punch Board, I'll have NO trouble creating a custom envy.

To the Real Red base, I added a layer of Whisper White and then some strips from the Fresh Prints DSP Stack. I opted for the Christmas Collectibles stamps this week and stamped my image in Real Red Cardstock. I added it to the card front with a circle cut from the Circle Framelits.

Paper Crafts Crew - Just Because

I just love today's card! Sorry it's late!

I went with a monochromatic look and had fun with Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral. These two colours together just make me happy! So does that sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts. It just looks so delicate with the little flowers, don't you think?

I started off with a base of Crisp Cantaloupe cut to 5" x 10" and scored it at 5" to create a square card. From there, I added layers of Designer Series Paper from Venetian Romance, This and That and the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper.

My sentiment was stamped using Crisp Cantaloupe and I cut it out using the Oval Thinlits and my Big Shot. I punched out the flowers from the same DSP and added candy dots to the centres.

Since my card is late, it likely won't be on the team site, but you can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

UDI meets Star Stamper!

At Leadership, everyone in attendance received the CUTEST Photopolymer stamp set! And with it, the news that beginning in June Stampin' UP! would be manufacturing the Photopolymer stamp sets RIGHT THERE in Kanab AND that they would now be clear mount cases! Awesome news all around! And wait till you see what they have in store for this new line - SO excited!

My card is just a tiny one today (note card size - 3 ½" x 5"):

The arrows are from the ORIGINAL (and unfortunately no longer available) Photopolymer Stamp Set Designer Typeset. Why not check out the whole line of Photopolymer Stamp Sets HERE. If you like the images in the Designer Typeset, you can still get it as a digital download. Unfortunately, the Star Stamper Set was only available to Leadership Attendees. You should come with me next year and see what kind of awesome goodies we all get! :)

The colours for this weeks UDI colour challenge were So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pumpkin Pie and you can check out what the rest of the crew did HERE.

Merry MOJO Monday

I'm back with another Merry MOJO Monday! Do you sense a theme here? My goal with MOJO Mondays is to create a Christmas card each week. I started a little late, so I won't quite have 52 cards by Christmas, but I think I'll be pretty close! Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Since I don't have much Christmas/Winter DSP left, I used the same colours as last week.

My base is Island Indigo with layers of Winter Frost DSP and Pool Party Cardstock. I stamped the image from Festive Flurry on Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out using my Big Shot and coordinating Framelit. While the paper is no longer available, you can STILL order the Festive Flurry Stamps and Framelits. Order the wood mount bundle and you can also order a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! Order the clear mount bundle and you're just $3 away from earning a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

I used the "merry" from Pennant Parade as my sentiment.
