Itty Bitty Birthday

I saw a near identical card on SplitCoast Stampers created by the wonderfully talented Vicki Parson and I just new I had to recreate it!

My recent Birthday Bash class participants were NOT disappointed!

Especially since I tied the bows for most of them - LOL!

Check out all those layers and detail!

We started off by stamping the image from Four Frames in Midnight Muse and punching it out. It was backed by a punched/cut Decorative Label. To the front, we added a Summer Starfruit 1" circle and we finished it off with the birthday sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners.

It's my upline's birthday today, but this is not the card she is getting! Hey...there has to be SOME surprise right?

What do you think?

Let's go Make a Cake!

OK, I was TOTALLY singing, "Let's go fly a kite..." as I was typing that. Yeah, I know. I'm a little (a lot?) weird like that - LOL!

As you know from this post, I was trying out for the CAS Design Team on SplitCoast Stampers. I'm pleased to tell you that I was chosen as one of the TOP 12!! The top 12 were asked to create a card based on two inspiration photos. The photos were party themed and had banners in them.

Here's my card:

When I saw the inspiration pieces, the first thing that came to mind was the "Make a Cake" stamp set. I learned a LONG time ago that the first thing I imagine is usually the RIGHT thing, so I went with it!

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure everything was lined up correctly and stamped my image with Pacific Point, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise. I added the cute little butterflies after the cake was stamped.

I briefly considered using Teeny Tiny Wishes for my sentiment, but decided to go with the "Happy Birthday" from Itty Bitty Banners instead. I'm glad I did. I think it's just PERFECT!

I'll let you know on Friday if I was successful in making the team!

Itty Bitty Banners for Dynamic Duos

It's time for another Dynamic Duos challenge. I am SO loving this blog!!! This week's challenge is a "Black Tie" challenge with a dessert option of dry embossing.

Check this out:

I kind of like that the Dynamic Duos team tends to pick one colour from the previous week. It's kind of handy since I'm pretty sure MOST of us don't put all our supplies away right away...I STILL had my So Saffron out from last week...and OMG! I JUST realized that the colour was supposed to be DAFFODIL DELIGHT and NOT So Saffron...I am SUCH an IDIOT!

Well, shoot! Oh well...here's the card I made:

I'll just make ANOTHER card to submit to the challenge. Or...I could just recreate the card with Daffodil Delight and do a comparison. HA!! I do like the way it turned out though...I may try a few of this card using different colours. :)

For right now, I'm going out for a bike ride...I'll try and get the Daffodil Delight version done later on. *sigh*

Ronda Wade made me do it!

So...this is the year I'm going to do it! I'm going to earn the 2014 Grand Vacation (I don't know where it is, but I KNOW it's going to be AWESOME) and take my husband on the vacation of a lifetime all thanks to Stampin' UP! Would YOU like to come with me? Join my team and I'll help you!

I had my first training call with Ronda this week and she gave us HOMEWORK! Homework? Yep! It's fun homework, so it's ALL good!

One of the things we had to do was stamp 25 thank you cards. I got 16 of the 25 done, but I have until next week to finish it up, so I'm not in trouble yet - LOL!

Wanna see??

Who says cute has to be complicated?

I used some retiring paper from the Nursery Nest pack and a NEW stamp set (available June 1st, 2012) called Itty Bitty Banners. Itty Bitty Banners was designed to go with the Bitty Banners Framelits which are OH. SO. CUTE. You're going to LOVE them!

These cards from the notecard set which, thankfully, will continue to be available in the next catalogue - PHEW!!! These are a GREAT value as you get 20 cards AND 20 envelopes for just $7.50 CAD. You can't beat that! Yes, they're slightly smaller (3 1/2 x 5), but they're still mailable. When you have a LOT of cards to make at once, these are ideal!

This is the size of card we'll be using when we create our Summer Smooches cards in July. If you haven't signed up yet, just click on the "classes" tab above for details and let me know you'd like to attend. The class is just $35 and you'll get a FULL pack of these cards to take home with you!

Here's a little close up:
