I used Stem Silhouettes and Matchbox Messages for this card which is 5 1/4" square.
This one made me smile because I really liked the cute little sun I made in the top right corner. I made it by smooshing a sponge dauber in Summer Sun ink and then smooshing it onto the cardstock - CUTE!
I used "And Many Mower" again, like I did for my Dad's card on January 2nd. I also used Baja Breeze and Manchester Designer Series Paper. I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla and matted it on Chocolate Chip Cardstock. My finishing touch was a knotted piece of hemp twine.
I used the retired Manchester DSP I was playing with the other day...these tins were the chocolate covered Altoids, but since I covered the tins completely, I didn't need to worry about the colour of the paper matching the tin - GO ME!
There are some super cute little note cards in there, but I can't show them to you...they're a surprise for the ladies who will be getting them.
Recently, Stampin' UP! retired a number of stamps that were on their dormant list. For the Bride was one of those sets. I'm sad about that because it is a BEAUTIFUL set and I just LOVE making wedding cards with it. So, I think I'll add it to those stamps that I just can't part with - LOL!
The boys' godmother's birthday is today and this is the card she'll be receiving. It's her husband's birthday too (how fun is that?), so I need to get a card made for him as well. I think I'll go with the same colour theme and then they'll match when displayed together. What do you think?
I know a lot of people don't like a white card base (and some specifically advise against it in swaps), but I think it gives the card a nice crisp feel.
I stamped the image from Asian Artistry in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla and then matted it on a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock. The paper is, again, Manchester (retired) and the card base as well as the ribbon around the image panel are both Kraft. I just LOVE our taffeta ribbon - it goes with just about anything!
My friend Melissa has been dealing with some not so fun stuff lately, so I stuffed it in an envelope and sent it off to her! In case my watermark is making it difficult to see the sentiment it says, "If life really is a bowl full of cherries, I hope yours are all chocolate covered."
The stamp set (called And Many Mower) was featured in our Occasions Mini from 2009, so "technically" it's retired, but I'm hoping it shows up in the new Idea Book and Catalogue for 2010-2011, because I REALLY like it! Besides, we don't have a whole lot of "manly" stamp sets to choose from. The paper (called Manchester) is retired too as is the Cardstock (Baja Breeze), but it one of my favourite in Colours EVER, so I hung onto it. We're half way into a NEW In Colour year, so it's really time to let it go...
This card is a complete and TOTAL CASE of the card my friend Robin made back in December of 2009. The only difference is that I didn't have the black paper she used on her card, so I improvised and made my own. Other than that, the layout, the stamp and the colours are exactly the same. I used the stamps from the new I {heart} hearts set that will be available on January 4th, 2010 when the new Occasions Mini launches. The paper is from the "Welcome Neighbour" 6 X 6 stack that you will be able to earn with your qualifying purchase during Sale-a-Bration which also starts on January 4th and runs until March 31st, 2010.
I just cut out the Top Note from the Welcome Neighbour paper pack which you can earn with your Sale-a-Bration purchase.
The set is called Good Neighbours. I stamped the images in Old Olive, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry. I used my markers to colour the tree before stamping in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.
My Caroline made the same card for her December Club meeting and I just had to CASE it because it was SO stunning! Of course, I had to borrow her Lovely as a Tree set in order to make the card...I think she's over it...maybe - LOL!
but ran out of both ribbon and Sahara Sand cardstock, so I had to come up with another design (which I'll show you tomorrow).
My card base is Whisper White and folded to a finished size of 3 7/8 X 9 inches. The next layer up is Garden Green, followed by More Mustard.
I just used a pre-designed template for this one and added a background paper from the Christmas Cocoa Kit and then just dragged and dropped pictures. Easy peasy! I added buttons from the Button Latte collection to the four corners.
The base is a leftover piece of Sahara Sand which I further trimmed down to 3 X 6 inches. It was scored at three inches and again at 1 1/2 inches to create the base for the easel. The front panel is 3 X 3 inches, also Sahara Sand.
It was actually done on Saturday, but I was running out to get together with some girlfriends (who each received the card), and while I had a few minutes to post it, I didn't have time to upload and blog about it.
