Lady Amy's Sketch

Today, I'm featuring Lady Amy's Sketch. You can find it here.
I used my Humour in High Heels set for this one, and stamped the image on Whisper White and again on a piece of Regal Rose DSP from last year's set of papers that were available as a Level 1 Hostess gift. A little while ago, I picked up an assortment of adhesive gems at WalMart and decided that the tiniest one would be just the PERFECT accent for the tiny flower on the dress.

The dress (as well as the squares) are matted on Melon Mambo, because if you've been reading since the new In Colours have been released, you know that Melon Mambo and Regal Rose is one of my new favourite colour combinations. I lifted the dress up on Stampin' Dimensionals to give the front of the card a little more "oomph".
The inside was finished with a piece of Whisper White on which I used my Regal Rose Stampin' Marker to doodle the edges.

What do you think?

Melon Mambo Pocket Silhouettes

While I had my hands on Pocket Silhouettes, I stamped these cards too, similar to the one seen here. There are SO many wonderful ideas out there that use this set, I just can't wait to get my very own!

This is the card I made:

It uses Melon Mambo Ink with Rose Red card stock and Regal Rose DSP and Ribbon. I think I'm in love with this colour combo!

Pocket Silhouettes - In Colour

First things first, I have the BEST upline on the planet! Why does she rock? Well, first off, she lets me work with her on a weekly basis, so I get to see all kinds of wicked cool stuff before anyone else does. Second, she has LOTS of stuff (way more than I do), and she lets me borrow it! Which is how I got to make this card:

I always knew I would love Pocket Silhouettes once I go it on paper and I was NOT disappointed! It's a small set, but it sure it MIGHTY! I just love the simple and elegant designs you can achieve with this set - STUNNING!

I stamped the images using Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I mounted that piece on Soft Suede and used dimensionals to pop up the focal piece on the card. I added the twill to finish it off.

What do you think?

Celebrate - In Colour, of course!

I was pretty busy making goodies this weekend while I was hanging out with my girlfriends!

This is one of the creations I made:
And this is the inside, with two Bailey's Chocolates in it:
I'll be giving this to my hubby when he gets home from work, because today is our "ring-o-versary"!

I know you're thinking, "This girl is NUTS! What the heck is a ring-o-versary?"

Well, I'll tell you! A ring-o-versary is a celebration of the day my hubby popped the question! That's right...20 years ago today, he asked and I said yes (obviously - LOL!). So we're celebrating...just a little. My upline (I was working with her today), gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate - YAY!!!

So, the details on the little matchbox:

I stamped the image on Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry and hand cut it so it would fit in the piece that I cut from the matchbox die. The outer box is cut from Crushed Curry and the inner box is cut from Rich Razzleberry. I used the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP to decorate the top of the box.

Soft Suede

Here is another card I made while I was out with my girlfriends this past Saturday. It uses Soft Suede Ink and Cardstock, but these are not Stampin' UP! stamps. Hope you like it just the same!

I really like the colour you get when you stamp off the Soft Suede...think I'll have to try that more often!

In Colours - Thanks So Much

Yesterday I went to my friend Steph's house along with some of my other crafty girlfriends and we scrapbooked/made cards/chatted/ate all day. It was great "therapy" just being able to hang with the girls!

While I was there, I started working on a mini album for my parents. We spent five days with them and my dad has asked me to put the pics on a CD for him. I thought I'd send along a little mini album too. When it's done, I'll post it here. It's made using the new In Colours (of course!). I also made some Thank You cards with the new In Colours and here they are:

There have been some quality control issues with the Bermuda Bay ink shifting which is why the image isn't the same colour as the cardstock. They are working on it, so rest assured that if you are ordering it, your ink pad will be just fine.

The sentiments are stamped with the same ink as the images and mounted on dimensionals.

I'm going to give them to the kids' cardiac nurse when I see her at the end of July.

What do you think?

Stamps: Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White

More Covered Note Pads

These are so much fun, that I just can't stop making them!!!

Yesterday was the last day of school...and in typical fashion, I had GRAND plans of things to make in teacher's favourite colours, etc...Ummm...yeah. Didn't happen. Can't say as I'm surprised because it NEVER does!

Anyway, these feature the same products as the ones you saw yesterday except the covers are Rich Razzleberry this time and the accent colour is Dusty Durango.

Have I mentioned that I love, love, LOVE the new In Colours? 'Cause I do!!!

Colour Me Happy!!!

In Colour Happy that is!

I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the new in Colours! I'll be honest with you: they are WAY outside of my comfort zone - I normally am not a lover of bright colours. But these are SO yummy, you just can't help but want to play with them.

I created these a few days ago the very moment I received my box of goodies from the man in brown. How fun!

My DD is past the age where she gives gifts to her teachers, but she has one teacher that she particularly likes, so I made a little notepad and matching pen for her. The second notepad and matching pen went to our family doctor with whom we had an appointment this past Monday afternoon. What better way to get my name out there, right?

I used Melon Mambo Cardstock as the base to cover the note pads. I used a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP on the front and a strip of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock to hide my seem. The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo (which, by the way, smells REALLY yummy!) on Whisper White Cardstock and mounted on a piece of Rich Razzleberry which was cut using the Matchbox Die. I mounted the sentiment on dimensionals. I rolled a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade to fit inside the pen to complete the customized look.
