Special Offer for class on May 4th!

Are you coming to class on May 4th to create your Manly Man cards? Would you like to come?

I've got a special offer for those planning on coming!

We'll be using one of my favourite sets to create three of the cards during class. If you order your set from me BEFORE class, not only will you NOT have to wait your turn because you'll be able to use your own set, but you'll ALSO save $5 off the class cost!

Check it out:

To ensure that your set will arrive in time for class it must be ordered no later than April 24th.

See you at class!

I've got good news...and bad news...

Which would you like first?

I'll assume you said bad first, since that's pretty much what everyone says and go with that.

So, the bad news is that the retiring colours Stampin' UP! announced and that I posted about here are going fast! I've heard word that some of the re-inkers are already sold out. That means if you want any of the retiring colour product you shouldn't wait!

And now for the good news!! All the colours in this card (which were set to retire at the end of the In Colour years) are STAYING and being shuffled into the Colour Families. Also...I've been stamping - FOR REAL! (heehee!)

I was working on my cards for my next class (May 4th) and since I had Clockworks out, I thought I'd use if for today's Utah Divas Colour Challenge. Our colours this week are: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral and a Neutral of our choice (I chose Whisper White).

Here's my card:

I love the way it turned out! You could also turn this into a single layer card by just using Whisper White. IMO, this falls into the CAS (Clean and Simple) category of cards. Lots of white space with a splash of colour gives the eye a place to rest and then still have fun with the Clockworks Collage.

And...if you left off the "celebrate you" from Fabulous Phrases, you could make the whole card with just one set!

What do you think?

STAMPS: Clockworks, Fabulous Phrases
INK: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral
PAPERS: Whisper White, Pool Party, Island Indigo

Vintage Thank You for the Crew (s)

Today's card is for BOTH of the Crews of which I'm a member! Check it out:

For the Paper Crafts Crew, we used this sketch:

And for the Creative Crew, one of our themes for December was to use the First Edition Designer Series Paper. I can't believe this is my last month on the Crew!! It's been an amazing journey and I just KNOW you're going to love the incoming crew! You can check out all the crew creations HERE and be sure to keep checking back in the New Year for the new Crew!

Of course, I took a few liberties with the sketch (don't I always??) but I sure do like the way this card turned out!

I wanted to make a thank you for one of the generous donors who "chipped in" for the Kidd family. Have YOU seen the widget in the top left of my blog? If you have even a little spare change, the Kidds (and I) would greatly appreciate it. :)

I started off with a base of Soft Suede and then added a stamped layer of Very Vanilla and a piece of So Saffron Designer Series Paper. I was going to use one of the Two Tags (from the die), but I wasn't liking the way it looked, so I changed it up a bit.

I did some distressing and sponging to add dimension to the card.

What do you think?

STAMPS: Clockworks, Friendship Preserves
INK: Soft Suede
PAPERS: Very Vanilla and Soft Suede Cardstock; So Saffron and First Edition DSP
ACCESSORIES: Ribbon, Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Above and Beyond for the Crew!

October was an INSANELY busy month and my Crew Creations came down to the wire!

My hubby was away a couple of weeks ago for business and he forgot to call me at breakfast like he said he would. I was feeling pretty unimportant and started getting upset/angry about the whole thing, so in order to turn my mood around, I decided to make him a card to remind myself of just how awesome he really is. Sometimes...he just doesn't plan very well and ends up having to rush around in order to get ready on time...he tries his best.

So, here's his card:

He works SO hard and goes above and beyond doing everything he does so that I can stay home and stamp...oh, and raise the kids...yeah...that too. *grin*.

I started off with the colours in the Festival of Prints pack since that was our DSP focus for November. I have the pack of paper, but didn't want to go "Christmas", so just used the colours.

I stamped the larger images first and then the smaller ones, ending with the clock which was stamped using the stamp-a-majig and Early Espresso Ink. Trust me when I tell, there really is NO other way to get it lined up. REALLY.
  • Here's a Stamp-a-majig tip for you: When you have a set you know you're going to use A LOT (or exclusively) with the Stamp-a-majig, order it in WOOD (trust me!) and stamp the images onto a window sheet using Staz-ON. Keep the window sheet with the stamp set and it'll always be ready to go! You can't do this with a clear set unless you're planning on permanently adhering the image to the block, because otherwise, it'll ALWAYS be in a different spot.
The sentiment was also stamped using Early Espresso. And of course, there's mush on the inside, but you don't get to see that. :)
