Vintage Thank You for the Crew (s)

Today's card is for BOTH of the Crews of which I'm a member! Check it out:

For the Paper Crafts Crew, we used this sketch:

And for the Creative Crew, one of our themes for December was to use the First Edition Designer Series Paper. I can't believe this is my last month on the Crew!! It's been an amazing journey and I just KNOW you're going to love the incoming crew! You can check out all the crew creations HERE and be sure to keep checking back in the New Year for the new Crew!

Of course, I took a few liberties with the sketch (don't I always??) but I sure do like the way this card turned out!

I wanted to make a thank you for one of the generous donors who "chipped in" for the Kidd family. Have YOU seen the widget in the top left of my blog? If you have even a little spare change, the Kidds (and I) would greatly appreciate it. :)

I started off with a base of Soft Suede and then added a stamped layer of Very Vanilla and a piece of So Saffron Designer Series Paper. I was going to use one of the Two Tags (from the die), but I wasn't liking the way it looked, so I changed it up a bit.

I did some distressing and sponging to add dimension to the card.

What do you think?

STAMPS: Clockworks, Friendship Preserves
INK: Soft Suede

Stepped up Tags for the Creative Crew

As you know from this post, our general theme this month for the Creative Crew is Step-It-Up!

One of our projects was tags - one simple and one WOW! I had fun with these! Check it out:

When I think "simple" I think single layer, so that's what I did on my Island Indigo tag. And then...I went a little nuts - LOL!

I stamped the image on the second tag in Island Indigo and then decided it needed a double layer, so I stamped it again and cut it out!

I added the faux stitching in Lucky Limeade next. As I was going to adhere the double layer of the image I decided that I needed something more on the tag and that's where the strip of Raspberry Ripple Designer Series Paper came in. THEN I attached the label and stamped the small banner in Raspberry Ripple before cutting it out.

On the WOW tag, I added Lucky Limeade ribbon instead of Island Indigo ribbon.

Check out the bling:

A couple of rhinestones are always welcome addition!

Friendship Preserves for the Paper Craft Crew

When I first saw the Friendship Preserves set in the Holiday Catalogue, I thought it was cute but not something I just HAD to have. Then of course, as time passed and I saw all the cute projects people were creating, I HAD to have it. It ALWAYS happens. *sigh*

Todays card was created because I was working on some items for the October Creative Crew (you'll have to wait a bit to see those). I had the papers out and decided they would be PERFECT for today's card.

I was going to use markers to colour the image in and ended up deciding that it would be MUCH too difficult (yes, even for me!) and quite difficult as many of the design elements in the stamp ran together. My compromise was stamping it twice and cutting out the little banner.

I then used the Big Shot and the Window Frames Framelits to cut out the image and mat. I added the ribbon to hide the seam between the two Designer Series Papers and adhered the image to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's the sketch on which my card was based:

Yes, I know. The sketch is square. I decided to go with a standard A2 card. Sketches are jumping off points, right? :)
