Happy New Year!

OOPS! This card was supposed to be for the Paper Crafts Crew sketch this past Wednesday, but I got so caught up in the festivities of the New Year that I completely forgot to get it out there!

I started off with a Soft Sky base and added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock between it and the Designer Series Paper. What the heck is that??

This *particular* paper comes to you courtesy of the Occasions Catalogue which you may have already received in the mail! Awesome, right? It's double sided, just like much of our regular DSP and it's FREE! Just carefully remove the outer wrap of your Occasions Catalogue and VOILA! Free DSP!

If you don't have an Occasions Catalogue yet, be sure to leave me a message so that I can pop one in the mail for you (Canadian addresses only).

For the image and sentiment, I hand cut the champagne flutes and added them to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock onto which I added a piece of Island Indigo which was cut with the On Film Framelits. I thought the addition of the little star in Crushed Curry was just the perfect touch behind the sentiment.

What do you think?

STAMPS: Happy Hour, Good Greetings (retired)
INK: Crushed Curry, Island Indigo
PAPERS: Soft Sky, Whisper White and Island Indigo Cardstock; Occasions Catalogue DSP

Catalogue CASE x 2 - One for me and one for YOU!

Today's card features a set that's been around for a few years, but that's SO versatile, you really SHOULD have it in your stamping arsenal. The set is Happy Hour! It's good for Christmas, cheering someone on, wishing them a happy birthday and telling them how much you appreciate them.

You can see today's card on page 135 of the 2014-2015 Catalogue and mine is here:

I started of with Whisper White base in a full size A2 card. The card in the catalogue is square, but as I mentioned last week, it doesn't have to be EXACT to be awesome. Use what you have and make it work for you. The point is to create and have FUN!

To my card base, I added a layer of Soft Sky Cardstock that I stamped with Soft Sky Ink. I used the tall glass image and my Stamp-a-Majig was INVALUABLE in getting them all lined up. If you don't have one yet, I highly recommend making the investment!

I angled the strip across the card base and trimmed it to fit. I then added a thin strip of Chocolate Chip Cardstock just above it and left some space for the Old Olive Bakers Twine, which was wrapped around and tied in a bow.

The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive Ink and I used my Stamp-a-majig again to get it in JUST the right spot!

Now, since the title of this post is "one for me and one for you", you OBVIOUSLY need to know how to get your hands on one of these cards!
  • Step 1: Go to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/handstampedfromtheheart)
  • Step 2: If you haven't already, like the page
  • Step 3: Leave a comment on the card post telling me what you think and that you'd like to receive the card
  • Step 4: SHARE the post on your wall
Easy peasy, right? You have ONE WEEK. I'll do a random draw of everyone that followed all the steps and then contact the winner and put the card in the mail.

Cheers to you from the Paper Crafts Crew

Welcome back to another week with the Crew - CHEERS!!

This week's card is clean and simple without a lot of frou-frou added. Sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day for all that fancy stuff and once in a while you just need a quick card. :)

I started off with a Pistachio Pudding Base and added a layer of Pistachio Pudding Designer Series Paper from the In Colours Paper Stack. This stack is such a great value! You get 40 sheets of double-sided high quality paper for just $26.95 - you won't find that at a big box store.

I cut a layer for my glasses using the Labels Collection Framelits, but thought it was missing something so I hand cut a layer Baked Brown Sugar DSP to put underneath it.

My glasses and greeting are both attached with Stampin' Dimensionals and I added just a couple of small Basic Rhinestones for a finishing touch.

Here's the sketch on which my card was based:

CHEERS to YOU and the Utah Divas!

Last week, I was chatting with Liz on Facebook and saying that these colours were weirding me out! It's all good though because it's allowing me to stretch my creativity. Liz said the MDS2 colour mixer gave her the combos. I guess that means that MDS2 wants us to stretch our creativity too - LOL!

For this week's card, I cheated just a little and added Whisper White to the mix of:

  • Pacific Point
  • Lucky Limeade
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Real Red
  • Crumb Cake
I suppose I COULD have stamped directly onto the Crumb Cake Cardstock, but I wanted a bit more contrast:

I started off with my Crumb Cake base and added a layer of Whisper White onto which I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Hour Set.

The banner was created by punching the coloured Designer Series Paper with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

I used my bone folder to curl the wide ends and folded them over the Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine after adding a few dots of Mono Multi glue to them. I trimmed the folded ends a bit so that they wouldn't stick out the sides. (Does that make sense?)

They were secured with Stampin' Dimensionals and then I tied two little bows to add to the ends.

A little beverage adorns the inside of the card:

Cheers to a Mary Brown CASE!

I'm gearing up for my first Christmas Stamp Camp of the season (YES! Christmas will be here before you know it!), but I also have a dear friend celebrating a birthday this week. I hope I mailed the card in enough time as it needed to make its way all the way to Australia! Her birthday was this past Tuesday.

We created this card at my last regular class (Birthday Bash!) and everyone enjoyed making it...probably because I fussy cut all the pieces for them - LOL!!

It used Pool Party, Island Indigo (the brad), Calypso Coral and Real Red. As the title of the blog posts indicates, it's a Mary Brown CASE. I just can't help myself! I love her work!

Did you notice that piercing pattern? Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the piercing templates yet??

Cheers to the Paper Craft Crew!

When I first saw today's sketch, I thought, "Happy I do Day" because I knew it would fit in the circle AND it's mine and DH's wedding anniversary on Friday. But then, I started thinking of bright colours since I had them out from yesterday's card.

So, here's what I came up with:

I started off with the leftover Pacific Point from yesterday and then consulted my colour coach to add the Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo.

I stamped the glass in Pacific Point on Whisper White and then punched it out, leaving enough space at the top for the little umbrella, which was (yes, I'm crazy!) hand cut. Then, I added a slit to the rim of the glass and tucked the umbrella in. I added a Stampin' Dimensional under the umbrella.

I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point and notched one end. Then, the idea of a martini came to me and I wrapped the other end around a toothpick (I cut off the pointy ends) for a nod to the "olives".

I'm sending it to a dear friend who's daughter has been admitted to the hospital AGAIN. If you've been around for awhile, you'll know that Allison is a dear, dear friend and that her daughter is loved as if she were mine. My heart breaks every time she is hurting. *sigh*

Oh dear...my apologies for the downer. :(

Here's the sketch on which my card was based:

I do hope you'll play along with us this week at the Paper Craft Crew!

Cheers to you!

It's July 31st! Are you ready to celebrate with me? WOOHOO! I've posted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

Today's card features the stamp set "Happy Hour". I JUST got this set yesterday and had to ink it up right away. It's just so cute! My favourite part is that it can be used for just about anything - there's even a Christmas sentiment in the set. And the value is AMAZING! You get 17 stamps for just $26.95 when you order the clear mount set.

I had some Soft Suede out on the table, so I decided to go with a monochromatic look (I also used Sahara Sand) and added a pop of colour with Pink Pirouette. I used my Smooch Spritz to add some shine, but I think I was a little too close to the paper, hence the big splotches. OOPS! :)

To make the "bubbly" pink I stamped the glass onto Pink Pirouette using Pink Pirouette (tone on tone) and cut it out.

To carry the "pink", I added the little banner bedazzled with Basic Rhinestones:

This is a 4 1/4" square card, so I needed a custom envelope:

The diagonal Simply Scored plate is wonderful for making all kinds of envelopes. If you don't have it yet, you need it! :) It fits right on top of the Simply Scored, so you don't even need EXTRA storage space!

This card is going out to one of my downline celebrating a birthday this week. Do you think she'll like it?

Also, don't forget that today is the VERY LAST DAY to get Reason to Smile! This stamp set is EXCLUSIVE for July and will NO LONGER be available after 11:50 pm MT! It can be yours for just $5 with your $60 order.
