Paper Crafts Crew

Since my world works in colours I have out, these colours were some I used on yesterday's card too. I added in some Coastal Cabana and took out the Pear Pizzazz. :)

I was sad to learn that Oh, Hello was retiring. It wasn't originally one of my favourite sets, but I've grown to love it and will be sad to see it go. :( Of course, I'm excited about all the new stuff on the horizon and can't wait to share some of THAT with you!

So, I started off with a So Saffron base and added a layer of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper and then a strip of I am Me Designer Series Paper. These are still available at time of typing, but you better hurry and get your last minute orders in! Both accessories AND stamps are only available while supplies last and at least TWO DOZEN items are no longer available from the list that JUST came out on Monday! Free shipping applies till Friday, just be sure to use Hostess Code: 6SDWJQYW when placing your order to qualify to win FREE product!

The arrow and camera were stamped and cut out from the Peachy Keen Stamp set - one of my favourites from the Occasions Catalogue.

You can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

What do you think?

And now for the REAL card - Sheesh!

If you scroll down, you'll see that life is not QUITE back to normal after convention and that I need to sort out my brain a little bit - OOPS! But...I was so excited about finding my MOJO that I just jumped in with both feet before my brain had a chance to catch up!

Yesterday I was getting some posts ready to go and thought I would jump back in with the Paper Crafts Crew and added the card you see in the post below. I couldn't quite figure out why I seemed to be the only one playing along. Turns out I was working on the WRONG sketch!

Here's today's card (based on the RIGHT sketch):

I started off with a Crushed Curry base (this wasn't one of my favourites when it was an "in colour", but it's kind of grown on me!) and added a layer of Very Vanilla. The next layer up is Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper.

For the main image, I stamped the chevron image from Oh, Hello in Crushed Curry (stamped off first) and then stamped the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz. I took it to my Big Shot and, using the Oval Framelits dies, cut it out. I stamped the flowers using the direct to rubber technique (come to class on September 7th!) and cut them out by hand.

The Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon was tucked under the image panel and tied in a bow.

Here's what the inside looks like (before I wrote the message and popped in the bag of the brand new customer who picked up her order this morning):

This was a whole new level of doodling for me!! I really like the way it turned out. I started off trying to zig-zag all the way around, but that was looking very messy, very fast! So, this was my alternative idea. I continued the cut flower on the inside too.

My card won't be in the post, but you can check out what the rest of the Crew have been up to here.

Oh, Hello for the Divas

I'm trying to get back in to the swing of things, but I do hope you'll forgive me if I'm not 100% consistent yet.

I picked up a NASTY bug while I was at Leadership (and I have yet to shake it) and yesterday, I was rear-ended not more than 2 minutes from home. They say bad things happen in threes... *sigh* I don't dare ask what's next!

Anyway...you can check out what the rest of the Divas have been up to here and then check out what I did:

The picture doesn't do it justice as it's WAY prettier IRL!

I started off with a base of Marina Mist and used the NEW Simply Scored Borders Insert to add the scored lines to the edge of the card. I used my snips to cut along the last score line to give the card a funky edge. I cut the Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper to sit inside the card and then lined up the other piece on the front.

I stamped the Oh, Hello and cut it out. I kind of like that it's not a perfect arrow. Don't you?
