Tag! You're It!

Oh wait! Wrong game...

Today over at the Paper Crafts Crew, we're playing Tic-Tac-Toe! I, of course, had to be an overachiever - LOL! So, I did a line down AND a line across. That counts as BINGO, right? :)

As you can see from the Tic-Tac-Toe board, I did the top row *and* the left column, combining babies, buttons, pastels, linen thread and die-cuts. And I couldn't be more thrilled with the results!

Take a look:

I started off with a base of the new Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock and added a layer of Blooms and Bliss - in pink this time! Aren't you glad I stopped bombarding you with the blue? At first glance (at least to me) the Sweet Sugarplum appeared to be more purple, but in this colour combination, I can definitely see the pink and I love it!

Sahara Sand and sponged Whisper White was next and then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happenings in Sweet Sugarplum and stamped the onesie from Something for Baby in the same colour, stamping it off first. The tiny heart was stamped at full strength.

The finishing touch was the button (retired, sorry!) tied with linen thread and added under the sentiment.

I stamped and sponged on the inside too:

This is another one of those cards where I chuckled to myself because I was so pleased with what I created. :)

What do you think?

Hello Baby

It's hip to be square, right? I sure hope so, because today's sketch is SQUARE! I don't often make square cards because we don't carry square envelopes, but then, you can always MAKE your own custom sized envelope using the Envelope Punch Board. However, this card is so pretty, you won't want to hide it away! :)

Ordinarily, when I photograph my cards, I crop them in tight so you aren't bombarded with visual clutter when you're looking at them. In this case, my bear Jack was peeking into the shot, so I decided to leave him there and tell you about him!

Jack was the bear that I received on my very first Christmas. I was only 6 months old, so I don't remember, but my parents have told me that he's been with me every since. He's had his ears ripped off (and sewn back on) and his whole head came off at one point (it was sewn back on too). And I'm pretty sure that his eyes and nose (metal buttons with a shank that are simply sewn into him) wouldn't even come CLOSE to passing any safety tests we have today. I'm pretty sure I'll keep him forever. He's old, but he's well loved. :)

And since I received him as a baby, I thought he was appropriate for a photo of a baby card. You agree, right?

Now...on to the card! I started off with a base of Tip Top Taupe. I meant to cut it to create a 5 ½" square card, but I wasn't paying attention when I made the cut, so the card ended up being 5 ¼" square. The Very Vanilla layer is 5 ⅛" square and the Sweet Lil' Things Designer Series Paper is 4 ½" square.

Then I added the Very Vanilla circle and two little onesies. The ribbon is Hello Honey Striped Cotton. In order to wrap it around the card, I punched a slot using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch. The slot wasn't quite wide enough, so I slid the punch down a bit to make it a little wider in order to accommodate the width of the ribbon.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of the most versatile sets in our catalogue. There's something for pretty much ANY occasion!

This card also fits the baby theme from GDP003.

That's all for now! You can check out the rest of the crew here.

On a recent trip around the internet...

You know how that happens, right? You start off in your email and then a link takes you to a blog and then that blog takes you to Pinterest and then Pinterest takes you to another blog and then...well, you know how it goes!

So...on a recent trip around the internet, I discovered a new challenge blog called the Global Design Project. They're on week #11, but I decided to go back to week #1 for the colours I used on today's card. The colours were: Smoky Slate, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette.

So Saffron and Pink Pirouette always make me think of baby cards, so that's the direction I took. How to incorporate Smoky Slate though? Stamp it off, of course! You can *barely* see it behind the sentiment on the tag (I stamped off twice) and on the hangers (I stamped off once). It's soft and muted and goes perfectly with the other two colours!

I started off with a So Saffron base and added a layer of Very Vanilla. Then I cut a piece of Pink Pirouette and ran it through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which you'll be pleased to know is NOT retiring from the Holiday Catalogue and is in fact featured on pages 8-9 of the Occasions Catalogue.

The label on the front started out being a Christmas tag for my upcoming class on Dec. 5th, but I just didn't like the way it was coming together...so I repurposed it and am THRILLED with the result! The corners and ribbon slots were punched with the Curvy Trio Corner Punch, which will also be returning in the Occasions Catalogue.

I stamped the little onesies in So Saffron and Pink Pirouette and cut them (along with the hangers) using the matching die set and my Big Shot. You can purchase the Baby Bundle HERE and save 15% through our bundle and save opportunity.

A little something cute...

for your cute little someone...

I'll admit, when this set first came out, I didn't REALLY think I'd want it, but then, as time went on and I kept seeing more...and more...and more adorable baby cards, I HAD to have it!

Does that every happen to you? If you fall in love with the set too, you can get it as a bundle! It might come in handy as I plan a baby card tutorial in the near future. Just sayin'.

Check it out:

I started off with a Soft Suede Base and added a layer of Soft Sky and then some Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper from the Park Lane DSP pack.

To create my focal image, I started off with an ATC sized piece of Soft Sky Cardstock. I then added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped my images with Daffodil Delight and Soft Sky inks and then cut them out...I seem to have mislaid my Big Shot Framelits for this set, so I had to hand cut the images. I'm sure it'll turn up..........

And the inside, is just as cute as the front:

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the divas have been up to here.

Because teeny bows are sometimes all you need!

I wasn't going to get this set. This is often the case when a new catalogue comes out. You think you don't need a set and then you see a card. And then another. And then a whole bunch of them and they're all SO. DARN. CUTE. So you do it. You order the set. And then YOU start making cards that are just SO. DARN. CUTE.

And you end up with these:

The card above was created for the Utah Divas Colour Challenge using Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. You can see what the other Divas have been up to HERE. I just love this colour combination! I didn't have any Designer Series Paper in these colours, so I just went with a white background. I think I may make the card again though and create my OWN DSP with some of the other stamps in the set.

I just love the little onesie! And that hanger - SQUEEEEEEE!!! It's a good thing this whole set comes in a bundle with the Baby's First Framelits, otherwise, the hanger would be a pain to cut out!

My next card was created over the weekend at my Stampin' UP! New Catalogue Launch! Oh we had SO much fun! We created cards and ate treats and everyone who came got to shop my retired product sale.

We did a make and take (which I can't find right now - YIKES!) and the card below was based off of it.

Have you SEEN the new In Colours? Do you LOVE them? I am happy to report that you will not hear me whining about ANY of the new In Colours this year. The new Hello Honey is so warm and fuzzy - I just love it! I do think that my favourite is the Blackberry Bliss. I'll keep you posted!

When I was little (and then when my kids were little), we had that stacking toy. I loved it because you could never really go wrong. The rings could only fit on it in one way, so you were bound to eventually get it right! When I saw it, I just knew it had to be coloured in all the new In Colours! So...from top to bottom: Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss with a Hello Honey base. Cute, right?
