OK, earlier this week, I made this. And it was cute. But what I'm about to show you is SO cute you won't be able to STAND IT!!! Better sit down!

Here's a little close up:

And now...

Are you dying?? Is this not just the cutest thing EVER?

Testing, Testing, 1...2...3...

So, back in January, I made this card. I made it for my mom's birthday which wasn't until March. By March, we had the Diagonal Simply Scored plate, which allows you to make custom envelopes! This is especially helpful when you're making a non-standard card.

So, I posted on Facebook when I was sending the card off to my mom and later reported that it had made it through the postal system safe and sound!! I had several friends (mostly other Stampin' UP! demonstrators) who decided that it wasn't any good to JUST test Canada Post. They determined that to REALLY test the handmade envies, I needed to send cards south to the US and even as far away as AUSTRALIA!!!

To that end, this card will be doing just that!

It seems a little blurry to me, so if it does to you too, my apologies. I'm still learning the ins and outs of my new camera. :)

I'm not sharing WHERE this one is going, because I want the recipient to be a little surprised, but I am sharing the card with you. And here's a close up:

I love the way it turned out! I do hope my friend will like it too!

In other news, there's just over 48 more hours left for you to take advantage of Sale-a-Bration! The set I used above is FREE with your purchase over $60. AND if you're a newsletter subscriber, you KNOW there's an even BETTER deal for you!!!

In other, other news...it's National Mom & Pop Business Owner's Day! Not that I'm a "mom & pop" business, but I think it applies to "small business" too. So, support a small business today!

How much fun can you have with a Simply Scrappin' Kit?

LOTS!!!!

This little mini albums inside a Clear Mount Stamp Case is just ADORABLE! It uses barely 1/2 of the Country Club Simply Scrappin' Kit, so you have a whole BUNCH left over for other projects. Or...just make two mini albums! The Clear Mount Stamp Cases come in packs of four, so you might as well make use of them, right?

This is just one of the pages in the album. It came together VERY quickly!

Th pages are staggered on the inside, enabling embellishments to peek out!

With the cardstock sticker in the Simply Scrappin' Kit, you'll have EVERYTHING you need to create this mini album which would make a wonderful end of year gift for a favourite teacher.

There's journaling space in here too - it's on the BACK of each page. Or, you could just add more pictures?

Would YOU like the step-by-step tutorial for this adorable gift? It can be yours with ANY order placed during the month of April. Just place an order and when I get the notification, you'll get the tutorial. How easy is THAT?

Happy Scrappin'!

A Note of Thanks for the Stampin' Queens

OK, I took a bit of poetic license with the sketch...flipped it sideways, moved the strip of paper, used an oval instead of a tag...you get the idea!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my version:

See? SERIOUS poetic license - LOL!

My dear friend Allison (mom to Princess Brigid) and her family recently held a fundraiser so they could purchase a MUCH needed bed for the princess. It's a Sleep Safe bed and carries a hefty price tag of $13,000! Brigid NEEDS this bed to "sleep safe" and government funding leaves MUCH to be desired!

Anyway...a LOT of people donated their time and talents and I told Allison that I'd make the thank you notes to send to those who helped.

Brigid's favourite colour is purple and the bumblebee represents how awesome Brigid is.

The bumblebee is from the now retired set "Just Buzzin' By and the sentiment is from Thank You Kindly.

A little Easter cuteness!

OK, so I've been talking about this on Facebook for like TWO days and TODAY you get to see the end result!

Here are only a few of the Easter treats:

I'm actually making 32 of them, but I promised my little man, Jonathan, that he could help me. He needs 19 for his class. The other 13 will be for spreading the love among mine and DD's friends. I asked my other DS if he wanted some, but being 13 he's too cool for these - LOL!

Here's a close up of the sentiment (Happy Easter from Teeny Tiny Wishes) with the "stem".

I found the tutorial on a fellow demonstrator's site and was THRILLED to be able to use up some of my 2010-2012 In Colour Designer Series Paper. I still have lots left over, but this little project put a pretty good dent in it! :)  I even managed to find enough Chocolate Chip scraps to complete the scalloped circles - AWESOME!

Oh Happy DAY!!!!

Not only have a I managed to FINALLY find my MOJO (thank you Teneale!), I also FINALLY have a camera again! Now...it's not new by ANY stretch of the imagination, but it's new to me and I already love it!

I was up BEFORE dawn today to head over to the Henry's Outlet where they had 25% off EVERYTHING in the store! I picked myself up a Canon 40D, an 18-55mm IS lens, a spare battery, a filter and a CF card. I can't tell you how EXCITED I am!!!

I've only taken a few pictures, but I'm very much looking forward to playing with all the features!

One of the pictures I took was a close up of my CASE of Teneale's card:

I can FINALLY (have I said that enough? LOL!) get a decent close up of my card elements - that alone was worth getting up at 6 a.m. on a Sunday!

The full card will be available in my April Tutorial which will be available for purchase toward the end of April. The tutorial will also include the other cards (six in total) from my "Just the Girls - WOW!" April class.

SO happy to be back!

It's been a CRAZY day!

Had to pick up all three kids at school - YIKES!! Thankfully two of them were after school, but one had a pounding headache and was seeing spots, so she got to come home earlier.

Needless to say, I haven't had ANY time to create!

I do have a super special announcement though!! It'll be going out to my newsletter subscribers ONLY on March 26th! So...if you're NOT yet subscribed to my newsletter, you might want to do that between now and March 26th - which is ONLY 6 days away!

You won't want to miss out on this - you're going to love it! So, sign up now by clicking on the link at the top of my right side bar.

Happy Stampin'!

Apologies are in order!!!

It's been a crazy busy few days around here what with Spring Break wrapping up, a teenager who has discovered he likes to text (and that "T9 is neither efficient or practical" - yes, that's a DIRECT quote from said 13 year old teenager) and this heat!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love that it's THIS warm and that today is the first day of spring (I had my first popsicle on Sunday and it was STILL winter!), but the heat in a high rise condo where they won't turn the air conditioning on until at LEAST May is not so conducive to creativity!

I'll be back later on today with something fun and hope you'll stop by. Tomorrow is Stampin' Queens Sketch Day and I KNOW you don't want to miss that. :)

Until then...Happy Stampin'!

Drop Donuts - YUM!

Happy Friday!! This is the LAST official day of Spring Break (except for the weekend), so to celebrate, I made DONUTS!!

You may remember this post from last year. For this one, I just changed up the ingredients and changed the picture. Same layout, different recipe!

Here's my recipe for my donuts (handed down from my mom!):

You're going to LOVE it! Beware, they're addicting!

Enjoy!

Dogs...and FLOWERS?

Yeah...not sure where I was going with this one either.

I wanted to use the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper because it's only available for a short time...and then I wanted to use a stamp set that hadn't seen a lot of ink (OK, NO ink!) and ended up pulling out "Not So Seriously".

I originally started thinking that I'd use the gift bag, but then realized that the dogs would fit in the panel I had - WOOT! But then, I ended up with dogs and flowers. Oh well!!

Here's the card:

I found a new sketch site, that just made my day...mostly because of the way the sketches are presented (not even kidding), and this was their first sketch.

I stamped the dogs using Basic Grey and then coloured them in using my Many Marvelous Markers. Did you know that More Mustard makes an EXCELLENT chihuahua colour?

I asked my daughter if she thought it was a totally weird card (what with the dogs and flowers) and she replied that she hadn't even noticed the flowers and thought it was a cute "guy card". So, I'm going to rework it and change up the papers, making it one of the cards we'll be creating during my, "Let's hear it for the Boys" class. What do you think?

They're on to week two now, so I did that card too:

I did flip the sketch 90 degrees, but I like the way it turned out. I took out Word Play and stamped the "Happy I do day" in Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White. While I was at Keely's workshop on the weekend she asked about the paper piercer and the mat pack, which made me realize that I hadn't used it in a while, so I added some piercing to the corners. A few pearls and the colour spritzer were the finishing touches.

What do you think?

Wish Big for the Stampin' Queens!

This week's Stampin' Queens sketch was a fun one with stripes!

My version has fewer stripes, but I love how it turned out!

I found the colour combination on Pinterest and loved the idea of all that bright happiness on a Crumb Cake base!

My strips are Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink and Tempting Turquoise. They're all just one inch wide, leaving a little 1/4" border of Crumb Cake at the bottom.

I stamped the sentiment from Short and Sweet in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and then matted it on Crumb Cake.

These don't come along very often, so please...feel free to bask in the glory!

HA! OK, only kidding! Though...it does seem like I spend a lot of time CASEing or using sketches. Every once in a while I get struck by genius and actually create something that just popped into my head.

Today you get to see this:

I created it a little while ago, but don't think I ever showed it to you here on my blog. The set is called "Party this Way" and it's in the big Idea Book and Catalogue. Until the end of March though, you can ALSO get it as a FREE set with a purchase of $60 because it's SALE-a-BRATION!

Gotta love Pinterest!!!

Pinterest has SO many wonderful ideas on it! I could stare at it and browse for HOURS...which I have done on occasion. Shhhh! Don't tell my husband - LOL!

Today's card is courtesy of Pinterest and Anne Marie Hile. I just loved it so much, that I had to CASE it!

My apologies for the late post today. I seemed to have experienced my first migraine yesterday and let me tell you, it was NOT fun!! Fortunately, the loving care of my hubby and the 13 hours of sleep seemed to have done the trick!

Here's my card:

I'll be showing it and having guests make it at Keely's workshop tomorrow afternoon and I just KNOW they're going to love it!

The photograph doesn't do it justice! There's just SO much going on...and the blue is actually Baja Breeze, not whatever it looks like - LOL! And the "orange" is Peach Parfait, not Pumpkin Pie or Tangerine Tango.

The butterflies were stamped using Versamark. In a workshop setting, this cuts down on the amount of supplies the guests need to handle and on the amount of supplies I need to carry!

What do you think?

Just a little thanks...in Pool Party

So, yesterday I got an email from the SUDSOL Sketch coordinator and decided to have a go at the sketch. I proved, once again, that you don't have to go overboard to create something wonderful! This, of course, doesn't mean that I don't like overboard...it's just that sometimes, overboard can scare new stampers.

So, I came up with this:

Pool Party, Attic Boutique, Ribbon, Punch. That's it. Total time? About five minutes! Perfect when you need a card QUICK!!!

Love Notes!

So, late last week, I received my Simply Scored Diagonal Plate and had fun making some cute little envies to hold a 3 x 3 note card. Of course, I gave them all away at my class and FORGOT to take a pic - YIKES!

So, yesterday I decided to make up some envies that will hold a 1/4 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 folded in half. The finished card is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 - it's SO cute! Check this out:

I actually made the envelopes first - LOL! I had a sheet of Pool Party Designer Series Paper that was already out and decided to use it up. The cards came next and they're VERY simple, but also cute. And...as we all know, CUTE is where it's at!

Lots of Love for the Stampin' Queens!

Last week, my honey and I celebrated our 26th date-o-versary.

Your what? Date-o-versary.

You're nuts. Maybe...but it means I'm guaranteed a fancy dinner out every six months - LOL! You see, our wedding anniversary is on August 31st. And we still celebrate the day we started dating 26 years ago, on February 28th, 1986. See? Fancy dinner every six months! This year, we saw the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and had dinner at Big Daddy's Crab Shack - YUM!!!

I used today's sketch as a jumping off point and then added - LOTS! Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

As you can see, I went a little nuts with the hearts. I kind of had to since it's our 26th date-o-versary and all. When we celebrated our 15th date-o-versary, I was working part time at that big craft store and brought home 15 helium filled heart shaped balloons. He was floored.

I started off stamping with stamping the sentiment from Loving Thoughts (a FREE set I received when I attended Leadership in January) and added heart #26 to the left of it. Then I had to draw lines because I'm not QUITE that awesome to line up the rest of the 25 hearts. I remembered to erase the lines before I gave it to him - LOL!

You'll want to join us this week! We have a SPONSOR for this week's sketch and winners will receive:

A Leadership Make and Take

While at Leadership, we received LOTS of goodies for Make and Takes. As so often happens though, there was just not enough time to get them done! What with all the talking and catching up with friends 2 1/2 hours just isn't enough. I suppose if we DIDN'T talk we MIGHT get them all done, but what would be the fun in THAT?

Last week, I went out to get the white frame I needed to complete one of the make and takes and I just LOVE the way it turned out!

Look at this:

The quote was created using MDS and printed on heavy weight cardstock. I put in the frame and then added the flowers from the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit available in the Occasions Mini. Here it is:

There are LOTS of cardstock flowers that you can layer to your hearts content and COLOURED rhinestones - WOOT!

The only stamping on this project is the Lucky Limeade centre on the large Daffodil Delight flower and the stamping on the banner.

What do you think?

Feelin' Blue with Pals Paper Arts

So...you know how sometimes you just go surfing around the blogosphere and end up somewhere TOTALLY awesome, but then don't remember HOW you got there? A little click here...a little link there...you know what I mean...

I think I started off on Pinterest and came across an AWESOME card that I just KNEW was Ann Schach's and then wondered how the heck I had missed it...you know since I stalk visit her blog everyday. Well, I went to comment on it and in my comment let Ann know that I'd be CASEing it and using it in my "Just the Girls" class next month. Of course, to use it in class, I'll probably have to cut out the handles first, but since I just LOVE all that fussy cutting, it's not a problem.

Here's my card, which I actually DID "selectively edit" instead of just copying the whole thing outright - go me! LOL!

The things I edited: I didn't run the stamped panel background through the Big Shot...mostly because my Big Shot is across the room and I was too comfy to get up. Yeah...not even kidding - LOL! I angled my sentiment...mostly because I already had a pearl in the tiny flower above it and I didn't want to have to take it off. Lastly, I added a pearl to the little seam binding rosette.

A Pinterest CASE with a couple of alterations

So...if you know me, you know I pin...A LOT. The other day I was pinning away (or re-pinning) and came across a most gorgeous card by Natasha Hein and I just fell in love with it. I decided then and there that it would be my customer thank you cards for March.

Here it is:

Unfortunately, earlier this week I needed a sympathy card. A dear friend from childhood lost her Grand Maman and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her. Since the card is understated, it lent itself well to a sympathy card. I used teeny tiny wishes, so I just switched out the Thank You sentiment with the With Sympathy sentiment and was able to send it off ASAP. You could use this card for just about any occasion, even a wedding!

I started off with a base of Very Vanilla Cardstock and then ran a layer of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot using the stripes embossing folder.

I punched out pieces of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (free with any $60 purchase during Sale-a-Bration) with the 1 1/4" circle punch and pieces of Pool Party Cardstock using the 1 3/8" circle punch.

I also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and some Pool Party Cardstock to make those adorable little butterflies which were embellished with Basic Rhinestones.

What do you think?

STAMPS: Teeny Tiny Wishes
INK: Pool Party
PAPERS: Very Vanilla and Pool Party Cardstock; Everyday Enchantment DSP
ACCESSORIES: Big Shot BABY! Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Embossing Folder, Punches, Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks! I appreciate you!

For the past 6 weeks or so, whenever I sign into my Constant Contact account (the site I use to send my newsletters), I've been greeted with "Thanks! You're Awesome! We appreciate your business!"

How awesome is that? Yes, I know that the same message probably appears on EVERY SINGLE account, but it still makes me smile. How often has a big company told YOU that you're appreciated?

Did you place an order in January/February? If so, THANKS!!! I'm a bit late in getting these out, but I wanted to show you what you'll be receiving:

I started off with one of the swap cards that I took to Leadership. I had a few left over and thought they would be PERFECT thank you cards! So, I trimmed down the Lucky Limeade layer and added it to a Very Vanilla card base. I hand cut the typewriters (because YOU are just that awesome!) and added the little thank you banner, both from the You're My Type set.

The Fresh Vintage set is one that I earned for free when I ordered $60 worth of stamping goodness during Sale-a-Bration. There's still 30 days left to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration offer! I don't often wish for SAB sets to carry over, but this Fresh Vintage set is one that I wish WOULD carry over! It's so versatile and well...VINTAGE!

What do you think?

STAMPS: You're My Type, Fresh Vintage (SAB set, available till March 31st)
