How embarrassing! I had this post all set up to go for yesterday and then realized that yesterday was Paper Crafts Crew day - dang it! Anyway....read on to learn about the Treaty of Paris and see today's card. :)
The Treaty of Paris was signed on this day in 1783. Considering my LOVE of Paris, I thought it would be appropriate to create a card...not necessarily for the occasion, per se, but with a Paris theme. :)
A quick WIKI search told me that the Treaty of Paris was signed just STEPS from the Hotel Millesime where we stayed when we went to Paris last year. How cool is THAT? If you're planning a visit to Paris, you should check it out. The staff at the hotel is incredibly kind and helpful and they speak English quite well. The breakfast (it was included in our room rate) was fabulous! The hotel is centrally located in the 6ième arrondissement just steps from the Rivière Seine. I promise, you'll love it! :)
Anyway...for today's (not) card, I chose to use a retired set called Follow My Heart. Yes, it's retired, but there are some sets that I just REFUSE to part with. Artistic Etchings is another. It's still available as a digital download though - PHEW! The GOOD news is, even though Follow My Heart is retired it's STILL available as an ACTUAL stamp set (not digital download) on the clearance rack and you can get it for just $11.99 in wood mount in my online store. Pair it with the Framed Love Refill Kit and you can recreate today's offering for a little more than $20! Plus, you'll have the stamp set to create even MORE awesome Eiffel Tower/Paris themed goodies. :)
Check it out:
Isn't it SUPER cute? I decided to give to my hubby as a sort of belated anniversary gift. I made it simple enough that he could take it to work and put it on his desk. :
What do you think?
