Butterflies at Leadership
I love, love, LOVE the new butterfly framelits! So much so that THIS:
was my swap card for Lyssa's swap at Leadership last week. Yes...that means I cut out (and poked bits out of) 20 of them to create the card fronts. It was TOTALLY worth it though, because I love the way it turned out and so did everyone with whom I swapped! I hope you're coming to class this Saturday because you'll get to see it up close along with all the other AMAZING samples I received.
I started off with a base of Hello Honey Cardstock and added a layer of Blackberry Bliss (which I'm SO happy is only one year one of In Colour - LOVE) with a snippet of Moonlight DSP (the best little stack to date!). Some ribbon was used to divide the layers.
My image panel is ATC sized (2 ½" x 3 ½") and on it I stamped some images from the Butterfly Basics Set. (psssst! Did you know you could earn this set for FREE by hosting a class in your home? Have your friends over, and we'll have some fun!) Some sponging with Sahara Sand ink toned down the stark Whisper White just a little. A die cut butterfly and a couple of rhinestones and I declared it PERFECT!
Check out the rest of the crew here.

With Sympathy
While no one ever WANTS to have to make a sympathy card, at least Stampin' UP! has a set that makes it easy - simple and elegant is what these occasions need and Stampin' UP! provides that with Love and Sympathy.
The UDI Colours were perfect for a sympathy card too - simple and understated.
I started off with my Sahara Sand base and added layers of Cajun Crazy and Basic Grey. I used markers to colour in the main image (Cajun Craze for the flower and Basic Grey for the stem) and then stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the divas have been up to here.

Make it MOJO
The one where I tell you EXACTLY how I made this card, complete with measurements.
If you're one of my Facebook friends or if you follow my Facebook Business Page - Handstamped from the Heart, you know I was away at Leadership this past weekend. We all had a GREAT time and came back tired but filled with ideas!
Today, I was inspired by the ribbon that was wrapped around our Manager's Reception gift...and then I didn't even use the ribbon - LOL!
Have a look at the card and then I'll tell you JUST how to make it:
Cut your Hello Honey Cardstock as follows:
Cut your pieces of Hello Honey Designer Series Paper from the 2014-2016 In Colour paper stack as follows:
Cut your pieces of Very Vanilla Cardstock as follows:
One piece at 2 ⅝" x 5 ⅜"
One piece at 3" x 4 ¼"
One piece at ¾" x 2 ⅞" (use your scissors to cut a notch in one end of this piece)
Cut a piece of Speciality Newsprint Designer Series Paper to 3" x 4 ½".
From scraps of Very Vanilla Cardstock, stamp and punch the large butterfly from Kinda Eclectic in Hello Honey Ink; die cut a circle using the 5th circle from the smallest in the Circles Framelits Set. Also punch a 2 ½" circle from Hello Honey Cardstock.
From a scrap of Hello Honey Cardstock, punch a 2 ½" circle.
Use your sponge to sponge Hello Honey Ink on all your Cardstock and DSP pieces except for your card base.
Now...it's time to assemble!
Adhere your 2 ⅝" x 5 ⅜" about ¼" from the LEFT side of one piece of Hello Honey DSP. Then, adhere your piece of Specialty Newsprint DSP to the RIGHT side of your card front, leaving about a ¼" on the right and centering it from top to bottom.
Leaving about a ¼" at the bottom of the Newsprint DSP, adhere your Hello Honey Banner on the left hand side and then add your Very Vanilla piece of Cardstock on top of this piece, leaving about ⅛" at the bottom of the Hello Honey Cardstock.
Set these pieces aside and now we're going to do some stamping!
On your Very Vanilla cardstock, you're going to stamp the sun image from Kinda Eclectic. Before you stamp the image, stamp it off onto scrap paper and then stamp it onto your Very Vanilla Cardstock. You'll put the sun slightly off centre, so you can see some of the ends of the rays on your cardstock. Then, using your Stamp-a-majig, you'll stamp the sentiment from Kinda Eclectic using Memento Black Ink. Stamp it toward the bottom centre of the circle.
Attach the stamped circle to the Hello Honey circle and adhere it to the card front just above the bottom of the Very Vanilla banner using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach the stamped and punched butterfly to the top, right of the circle using Tombow Mono Multi Glue (green goop - LOL!) Be sure to use the glue JUST down the centre of the butterfly.
Attach all these stacked pieces to the card base and then add the little pearls in each corner of the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.
Now, let's move to the inside of the card:
On this inside piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock, you'll stamp the same sun image on the top RIGHT. Don't stamp it off this time. Stamp it at full strength. Attach the skinny strip of Hello Honey DSP toward the bottom of the piece. Then, you'll attach it to the large Hello Honey piece and then attach both these pieces to the inside of the card.

For the birds!
As you read this, I'm either at the airport waiting for my flight, on a plane winging my way to Orlando or at the hotel already having an AWESOME time with my Stampin' UP! peeps! (all depends what time you're reading - giggle)
Have you seen this set? It's so cute and versatile - stamps for almost every occasion paired with cute little birds. What could be better?
For today's card, I started off with a Coastal Cabana base and added a layer of Whisper White. A little pop of Designer Series Paper from the In Colour paper stack breaks of the starkness of the white background, adding just the right amount of colour.
The image was stamped in Memento Ink and the cute little birds were coloured in with Blendabilities (which you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration) and punched out using the 2" circle punch. It was then matted on a circle of Bermuda Bay cut out with the Circle Framelits.
A little flag with the sentiments and a couple of little banners and flowers finish off this card perfectly!
Check out the rest of the crew here.

Hello you!
I couldn't believe my luck when I saw this stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue! It's perfect for...well...EVERYTHING!!
The stamp is called "Crazy About You" and it's available in a bundle (which includes 4 framelits) for as little as $52.50 (photopolymer). Add a pack of cardstock for $8.50 or even a pack of Notecards for $7.50 and you've just spent enough to earn a free Sale-A-Bration item! YAY!
I started off with a base of Basic Grey Cardstock and added some Designer Series Paper from the Flowerpot and Confetti Celebrations collections. Some Pear Pizzazz Cotton Ribbon was added to separate the two pieces.
I stamped the "YOU" in Basic Grey and cut out the "hello" and butterfly in Pear Pizzazz. The butterfly seemed to get "lost" on the Tangerine Tango flowers, so I cut out a second one in Shimmery White Cardstock to make it pop!
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the divas have been up to here.

Birthday Tree
I have several favourites (Gorgeous Grunge comes to mind), but I know that if I want to make a "man card", Lovely as a Tree is the set I'm going to choose.
For this card, I started off with a base of Early Espresso Cardstock and added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, partially covered with the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. All the layers were sponged with Soft Suede Ink.
The image was stamped using markers for the direct to rubber technique and was spritzed with water to give it a water colour effect.
I had to add some ribbon! I know most men don't like that "girly frou-frou stuff" but I figured a knot (not a bow!) wouldn't be TOO offensive - LOL!
Check out the rest of the crew here.

I wasn't too sure about the colour challenge today, but it worked out great! So good in fact, that I made THREE cards because I couldn't decide which one I liked best. :)
I started off with a base of Pink Pirouette for all the cards and layers of Rose Red cardstock and Hello Honey DSP from the Lullaby Designer Series Paper.
I stamped the images from Label Love twice, once in Smokey Slate and a second time in Rose Red. These were punched out and layered. Then, I used the Artisan Label punch again and punched out layers in Rose Red, Hello Honey and Pink Pirouette for the back of the images.
I'll be swapping the card on the far left at Leadership in Orlando, Florida.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the divas have been up to here.

The cutest little box - EVER!
Have you seen the little 2 x 2 boxes that are available in the Occasions Catalogue? They were in the Holiday Catalogue too and I'm SO pleased they carried over. I just love them!
This one was another one of the TWELVE projects we completed in my Birthday Bash Class this past Saturday. We did TEN cards and then two boxes - one of the boxes was big enough to hold almost all of the cards. :)
This box is SUPER tiny, so you'd have to have a tiny present to add to it - a pair of earrings perhaps? Or some really cute EOS lip balm?
We started off with the teeny box (of course) and added some Moonlight DSP on all four sides and to the top as well.
To make the box even CUTER (is that even POSSIBLE?) we added a bow to the top that we made with the bow builder punch, which is brand new in the Occasions Catalogue. If it's not yet on your wish list, you should probably remedy that situation pretty soon. :)
