Pinterest CASE x 2 - One for me and one for YOU!

This is post #1000!!!!!

Seems appropriate then that today is also an anniversary! It's not the anniversary of when I joined Stampin' UP! or even the anniversary of when I started my blog. Nope!

It's my wedding anniversary!

Today, my hubby and I celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Now, I know you find that hard to believe since I seem so young and all that, but it's true! :)

I found the *perfect* card for him on Pinterest. It was created by the lovely and talented Yvette Ashe and when I saw it, I just knew it was the "one". Kind of like ALL those years ago when I first saw my husband.

Here's the card:

I started off with a base of Pool Party which I ran through the Big Shot, but only part way. The place I stopped is hidden by the next layer. You can see it from the inside of the card, but not on the front. If you wanted to hide it on the inside, you could add a layer, but with everything going on on the front and the (I'm sure) mush on the inside, the intended recipient will likely not notice.

My Designer Series Paper is from the Flower Pot pack which, despite its name, has some "masculine" papers in the set.

There's LOTS of layers and Stampin' Dimensionals in this one, so you'll want to hand deliver it as putting it in the post will likely cost you a small fortune.

Now, since the title of this post is "one for me and one for you", you OBVIOUSLY need to know how to get your hands on one of these cards!
  • Step 1: Go to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/handstampedfromtheheart)
  • Step 2: If you haven't already, like the page
  • Step 3: Leave a comment on the card post telling me what you think and that you'd like to receive the card
  • Step 4: SHARE the post on your wall
Easy peasy, right? You have ONE WEEK. I'll do a random draw of everyone that followed all the steps and then contact the winner and put the card in the mail.

Happy Stampin'!

OOPS! That doesn't go there!

If you've discovered a passion for Stampin' Blendabilities you'll want to get your hands on the Color Lifter marker.

The Color Lifter is an optional, but fun addition to your Stampin' Blendabilities collection. It pushes color to move it (not erase it) so you can quickly and easily create highlights on colored images and even repair a bit of "coloring outside the lines.

Order your Color Lifter today and see what a highlight it can be to your Stampin' Blendabilities colouring!

Tip: The effect of the Color Lifter changes as it dries. Allow area highlighted to dry and then color over it again if you want more color moved for a brighter highlight.

If you've got Blendabilities, the colour lifter should be the next purchase you make.

You can order it online HERE.

Hello

I've loved all the typewriter sets over the years, but the set in the 2014-2015 catalogue is by far my favourite. I hope you like it too, because you'll probably be seeing a LOT of it! :)

Today's card for the Paper Craft Crew was perfect to showcase this set. Check it out:

I pretty much LOVE all the paper in the Moonlight DSP stack (I'm on my second one!), and this one was just the ticket to showcase the Tap, Tap, Tap stamp set. It was also light enough for me to stamp the "Hello" sentiment from "Four You" right onto it without the need for another layer of cardstock.

Do you see the punched piece just under the ribbon? I created it with the Spiral Border Punch. It was kinda fun to carry the "paper" theme through out the whole card.

I used my Big Shot to die cut the oval and then added the fussy cut typewriter to it with Stampin' Dimensionals. See the sentiment on the typewriter? It was perfectly placed with the help of the Stamp-a-majig.

I couldn't leave the inside of the card naked:

I inked up the image and stamped it three times without reinking.

You can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?

Well, you found me! I'm glad you're here! Today's card is simple, yet effective. I was a little puzzled at the colours, I have to admit because Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler are both Regals and Marina Mist is a subtle. But! I forged ahead! Aren't you glad I did?

Catalogue CASE x 2 - One for me and one for YOU!

Today's card features a set that's been around for a few years, but that's SO versatile, you really SHOULD have it in your stamping arsenal. The set is Happy Hour! It's good for Christmas, cheering someone on, wishing them a happy birthday and telling them how much you appreciate them.

You can see today's card on page 135 of the 2014-2015 Catalogue and mine is here:

I started of with Whisper White base in a full size A2 card. The card in the catalogue is square, but as I mentioned last week, it doesn't have to be EXACT to be awesome. Use what you have and make it work for you. The point is to create and have FUN!

To my card base, I added a layer of Soft Sky Cardstock that I stamped with Soft Sky Ink. I used the tall glass image and my Stamp-a-Majig was INVALUABLE in getting them all lined up. If you don't have one yet, I highly recommend making the investment!

I angled the strip across the card base and trimmed it to fit. I then added a thin strip of Chocolate Chip Cardstock just above it and left some space for the Old Olive Bakers Twine, which was wrapped around and tied in a bow.

The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive Ink and I used my Stamp-a-majig again to get it in JUST the right spot!

Let's get blending!

If you're like many of my customers you've been curious about alcohol markers but hesitant to try them because of expense and complicated color systems. Stampin' Up! has seen the need and a simple and affordable alternative is the newly released Stampin' Blendabilities alcohol markers. I am so excited to share them with you!

Alcohol markers are popular for their vibrant colors and the ability to blend and shade without the streaking you can get with traditional markers. Other brands offer quality and variety, but can be frustrating to use and too costly for paper crafters. Stampin' Blendabilities come in sets of 3 pre-coordinated (light, medium, and dark) shades of the same color instead of complicated scheme that take time to learn. The colors coordinate with all our products, making it easy for you to coordinate your coloring with cardstock, Designer Series Paper and embellishments.

These markers don't require expensive paper to look good, I recommend our Whisper White cardstock. Let me show you how you can use these markers on more than just paper.

To get started with Stampin' Blendabilities alcohol markers you'll only need a few items.
  • A set of Stampin' Blendabilities (or more than one set if you want more colors).
  • Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad that is designed so it doesn't smear when colored with alcohol markers.
  • A line art stamp set to stamp and color. There are quite a few shown on pages 166-173 of the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog, plus many more throughout the catalog.
  • A package of Whisper White cardstock (#124302), Whisper White Cut & Ready Card Bases (#135804), or Note Cards (#131527)
  • Optional - The Color Lifter is a fun, addition. It pushes color to move it (not erase it) so you can create highlights on colored images and even repair a bit of "coloring outside the lines"
I'm excited to share the vibrant colours and techniques of Stampin' Blendabilities with you! All you need to do is purchase a set of Blendabilities markers and you'll receive a tutorial to create your own projects! Already ordered them from me? Just let me know and tutorial is YOURS!

You can order them directly online HERE.

Because I said SO!

If you have children, you probably say it more often than you think. :)

Today's card is a just because card, because really...you shouldn't need a REASON to send a card, right? You're a stamper, just send it!

I started off with a square (5x5) Blackberry Bliss base and added a layer of Park Lane Designer Series Paper. I just love that paper! It's big and bold but not totally in your face. Does that even make sense?

Next piece up is Whisper White stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Hello Honey Ink. I love that stamp set! You can use if for ANYTHING!

I then added layers of Moonlight DSP and Blackberry Bliss Cardstock. The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss Ink with the aid of my Stamp-a-majig to get it in JUST the right place.

I added flowers using matching cardstock/DSP and the punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

The flowers were added to the inside too (along with some sponging and doodling):

You can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

Stop me if you've heard this one before...

As you may have heard, every June,  I host Stampin' Extravaganza! It's an all-day stamping event where we create 10 cards, donate cards to Ronald McDonald House Charities and generally have an AWESOME time! The food is INSANE (my daughter bakes!) and the company is AMAZING! This past June was my third annual event. Next year is #4 - you should come!

Anyway...each year I choose a stamp set for the event. I can assure you, this is no easy task! It has to have variety, be with a certain price range, be versatile, etc.

This year, I chose Honeycomb Hello. It's SO cute and tiny! How cute and tiny is it? SO cute and tiny that the WOOD mount set fits in a ½ size wood mount case. That FIFTEEN images in a ½ size case. That's SERIOUSLY cute and tiny! The best part? Everyone who came to Stampin' Extravaganza as a customer got to KEEP the stamp set!

Pinterest CASE x 2 - One for me and one for YOU!

In an effort to "switch it up a bit", I decided on a Pinterest CASE for today's card. I have seen SO many amazing cards on Pinterest that I couldn't possibly create all of them, but this one just struck me and since I *just* got the set, I just had to! Bonus? It's also the MOJO Monday sketch for this week - WINNING!

Tap, Tap, Tap

Oh man! I just KNEW when I saw this set in the catalogue that I would just HAVE to have it! AND that I'd use it too - not one of those sets you "have to have" and then sits on the shelf unused till it retires (raise your hand if you have any of THOSE).

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Oh how I love note cards!

Have you seen them? The note cards? They're often overlooked in the catalogue, but they're one of the BEST deals going! For just $7.50, you not only get 20 pre-scored AND pre-folded cards, but you ALSO get 20 envelopes! You really can't beat it!

Today's card feature Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. Check it out:

My base is the NEW Crumb Cake Note Cards which I'm thrilled Stampin' UP! is now carrying! To my base I added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock onto which I stamped my images and added my butterfly.

The Crushed Curry Flower is from the new Photopolymer Stamp Set called Flower Patch. If you've not tried Photopolymer stamps, I urge you to take them for a test run! They're not the stuff you saw in the early days of acrylic stamps. Obviously, I'm a bit biased because I represent Stampin' UP!, but I can tell you from past experience (before I became a demonstrator) that the quality of the Stampin' UP! Photopolymer stamps is AWESOME!!

The sentiments were stamped in Melon Mambo and they're from the "Really Good Greetings" Stamp set.

I punched out butterflies using the small butterfly punch and added them to the card fronts using Tombo glue. The finishing touch was Basic Rhinestones.

You can see what the rest of the Divas have been up to here.

Catalogue CASE x 2 - One for me and one for YOU!

So, what did you think?

Did you like last week's feature? I sure hope so, because I had fun reading the comments and seeing what you thought!

This week's card is on page 108 of the 2014-2015 Catalogue and you can see mine here:

I started off with a Baked Brown Sugar Base and added pieces of Cardstock and Designer Series Paper from the Lullaby Paper Pack. I didn't have the paper in the catalogue sample, so I used what I had. You can do that too. It doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same to be awesome. :)

I stamped the sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts onto Whisper White Cardstock using Baked Brown Sugar Ink. I notched one end and attached a clip from Essentials Hardware Clips tied with Whisper White Bakers Twine to the other end. Because of the way I added adhesive to the top DSP strip, the clip is actually functional (though I did attach the other end of the sentiments with a Stampin' Dimensional).

Banner Birthday!

Do you ever see a sketch and just KNOW the perfect stamp set and EXACTLY what you're going to do? And then, does it turn out just the way it looked in your head?

That's what happened with today's card and I couldn't be happier! Check it out:

I knew I wanted something bright and cheery and I knew I wanted to use Endless Birthday Wishes (LOVE this photopolymer set!)

I stamped cake image onto my Whisper White Cardstock using Memento Black Ink (perfect for Blendabilities) and coloured it in using my Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate Blendabilities. It was matted on Tempting Turquoise.

Then I stamped some dots and added the banners and bakers twine bows.

I stamped the inside too:

Just perfect for a bright and cheery birthday card! It can be yours! I sell all the cards on my blog for $4 + shipping to you.

You can check out what the rest of the crew has been up to HERE.

I'm all out? What do you mean I'm all out?

When I went to pull the cardstock for today's card, I was FLOORED to discover that I was all out of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock. Not even any SCRAPS! WHAT? How is that even a thing? So, I ordered that right quick and then got to creating!

Check it out:

I had SO much fun with this! I was looking for some Designer Series Paper that had some of this week's colours in it (Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry), but I had none, so I set to making my own. To do this, I used the giant swirly stamp from Everything Eleanor and stamped it off before stamping the colour onto my piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Four You in Tempting Turquoise, the large flower from Flower Shop in Rich Razzleberry and the small flower from Petite Petals in Pear Pizzazz. I matted the "hello" sentiment onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock and stacked the flowers using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The finishing touch was a Rich Razzleberry Candy Dot.

And of course, I had to add some stamping on the inside too:

Catalogue CASE x 2 - One for me and One for YOU!

I thought I'd try something new today! If it works, this feature will be ongoing - YAY!

Today's card is a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from the annual 2014-2015 Stampin' UP! Catalogue. You can check out the original on page 67. And here's mine:

I started off with a Pool Party base and then stamped the World Map image (the original card uses the Dictionary Background Stamp) onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I then stamped several flowers from Flower Shop and punched them out using the coordinating punch.

A thin piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock was added to the top of the map image piece and a length of Venetian Crochet Trim (by far the PRETTIEST ribbon in the catalogue) was added just above it.

The Crisp Cantaloupe and Crumb Cake flowers were adhered to the map image and the Linen Thread was tied around it. Finally, the Pool Party flower was adhered with a Stampin' Dimensional and the whole panel was added to the card front using even MORE Stampin' Dimensionals!

The last piece of the puzzle is the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I love this versatile set! There's a sentiment in there for just about EVERYTHING!

Now, since the title of this post is "one for me and one for you", you OBVIOUSLY need to know how to get your hands on one of these cards!

  • Step 1: Go to my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/handstampedfromtheheart)
