Cheers to you!

It's July 31st! Are you ready to celebrate with me? WOOHOO! I've posted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

Today's card features the stamp set "Happy Hour". I JUST got this set yesterday and had to ink it up right away. It's just so cute! My favourite part is that it can be used for just about anything - there's even a Christmas sentiment in the set. And the value is AMAZING! You get 17 stamps for just $26.95 when you order the clear mount set.

I had some Soft Suede out on the table, so I decided to go with a monochromatic look (I also used Sahara Sand) and added a pop of colour with Pink Pirouette. I used my Smooch Spritz to add some shine, but I think I was a little too close to the paper, hence the big splotches. OOPS! :)

To make the "bubbly" pink I stamped the glass onto Pink Pirouette using Pink Pirouette (tone on tone) and cut it out.

To carry the "pink", I added the little banner bedazzled with Basic Rhinestones:

This is a 4 1/4" square card, so I needed a custom envelope:

The diagonal Simply Scored plate is wonderful for making all kinds of envelopes. If you don't have it yet, you need it! :) It fits right on top of the Simply Scored, so you don't even need EXTRA storage space!

This card is going out to one of my downline celebrating a birthday this week. Do you think she'll like it?

Also, don't forget that today is the VERY LAST DAY to get Reason to Smile! This stamp set is EXCLUSIVE for July and will NO LONGER be available after 11:50 pm MT! It can be yours for just $5 with your $60 order.

What do you think?

Christmas Emboss Resist

Oh man! It's been SO stinkin' hot lately...I'm wishing for SNOW! I'll admit...I don't do well with heat. I'm a fall kind of girl - sweaters and changing leaves. Yep! That's the time of year for me!

So, I was designing this week for some of my upcoming classes. My next class (August 11th) is a "back to school" class where we'll be working on TECHNIQUES!

A lot of my customers/stamping friends say they have difficulty mastering techniques and would LOVE be able to practice them more often. This upcoming class seemed like a great idea! I still have some space available and you can check out all the details on the CLASSES tab.

Here's just ONE of the cards we'll be creating:

You'll have to come to the class to see what else we'll be creating! Oh...and I'm not going to tell you how I did either *insert evil grin*

Prepare to be AMAZED!

Are you sitting down? Sure? Ready?

I SCRAPBOOKED!!! With REAL PAPER!!!

I was trolling Facebook earlier this week, catching up with all the last bits and pieces of convention chatter, when I came across the most AWESOME scrapbook page by the amazingly talented Wendy Weixler. She was an Artisan Award WINNER this year and seeing her work, you'll KNOW it was well deserved.

Anyway, it was one of Wendy's pages that made me want to scrapbook with PAPER! I didn't end up CASEing her page as I had planned, because while I was trying to remember where I'd seen the darn thing, someone linked me up to Brandi and then I got a whole OTHER idea!

Check this out:

That's my girl!! You may remember seeing this photo before. I used it here for a digital layout created in My Digital Studio. I was messing around in Photoshop Elements and I'm still not REALLY sure what I did, but I like the way the colour is mostly gone from the photo. It gives it a nice vintage feel.

Here's the journalling:

Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine.
~ Jeffrey Glassberg

Since I used all those butterflies, I was looking for a quote and this one just spoke to me. Sometimes, she can be a pain (what teenager isn't?), but for the most part she's a ray of sunshine!

A couple of detail shots:

I cut out a LOT of butterflies, using both the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die.

MOJO Monday Birthday

Yes, I know it's Thursday...but if you've been following my blog for ANY length of time, you know that I RARELY get the MOJO Monday done on an ACTUAL Monday. In fact, I think it's happened ONCE - LOL!

Today's card is for a dear friend who is celebrating a birthday this weekend! The best part? I get to spend the DAY with her and a couple of other WONDERFUL friends. We've known each other probably for about 10 years or so and we STILL (as time allows) get together once a month and craft! Sometimes months and months go by before we see each other, but we pick up RIGHT where we left off like no time has passed at all. THAT is an AWESOME kind of friendship! Wouldn't you agree?

Anyway, onto the card...

I still had some Baja Breeze out from Keely's Workshop this past weekend, so I started off with that. Then, I decided on a monochromatic look, so I took out my Not Quite Navy. Did you know that Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy are a "Dynamic Duo"? You should check out the Colour Coach! There's all kinds of GREAT ideas on that! I use almost every time I create!

Since we've been friends for such a long time, I chose a set that feels a little "vintage" to me. The image is from one of the new sets in the 2012-2013 Catalogue called "From My Heart". Appropriate, don't you think?

I stamped it in Not Quite Navy and then hand cut it (yes, for real). Then I stamped the "Friendship" again in Baja Breeze and hand cut that. I added it on top of the image using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I then punched out a 2 1/2" circle using my circle punch and adhered the image to that. Next came the paper piercing, which you can somewhat see in this detail shot:

The image seemed like it was missing a little something, so I took three of the smallest paper daisies, coloured them with an inked sponge dauber and bedazzled them with a Basic Rhinestone before using a glue dot to attach them to the card.

Here's the inside:

I won't subject you to the mush I'll be adding later. :)

What do you think?

Inspired by Lyssa

Today's card was inspired by my dear friend, the lovely and talented Lyssa Zwolanek. Lyssa had a piece published in Stampin' Success (yes, it's THAT magazine again!) that she submitted for the Art Contest and this card is a result of my interpretation.

Check it out!

I started off with a little note card - SUCH a FUN size! - and then decided on a layer of Crumb Cake Cardstock around which to wrap my buttons.

I started off stringing the buttons on a L-O-N-G piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine and then wrapped the buttoned twine around the Crumb Cake layer. When I had all the buttons where I wanted them, I tied a knot in the back and attached the buttons with glue dots so they wouldn't move around.

Before attaching the layer to the card, I added the sentiment from Petite Pairs stamped in Night of Navy.

Here's a close up of the NEW (from the 2012-2013 Catalogue) wood look buttons:

Is that not the CUTEST? They come in three sizes/styles and are just $6.95 (#127554).

Best Wishes

Today's card is brought to you courtesy of Stampin' Success!

What *IS* Stampin' Success you ask? Well, it's the EXCLUSIVE demonstrator magazine that gets delivered to my mailbox EVERY month as just one of the demonstrator perks I receive.

I decided that I liked one of the cards enough to CASE it. Wanna see?

I started off with a Baja Breeze base and added a piece of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper to it. The next step was the Pear Pizzazz "flag" onto which I tied a length of linen thread.

Then it was time for the sentiment. I stamped one of the Four Frames onto Whisper White cardstock using Island Indigo Ink and then I added the sentiment from Petite Pairs in Baja Breeze. I stamped it a little off centre (OOPS!), so I added the two Riding Hood Red flowers embellished with Basic Pearls.

Did you notice that pierced pattern around the sentiment? Pretty neat, eh??

I used the new Paper Piercing Pack and TRUST ME on this one - YOU want it! It has ALL kinds of patterns for piercing, including shapes (like the one above) and circles! It's fantastic! And...I'll let you in on a little secret...there's ANOTHER pack coming in the HOLIDAY Catalogue available on August 1st. Yeah...it's gonna be a great year!

Would you like to get a Stampin' Success magazine in YOUR mailbox every month? I can make that happen! All you have to do is join my team!!! But DON'T do it now! WAIT! If you join my team on August 1st, you'll get everything you need to do this:

Is that not the CUTEST thing EVER??

Each and EVERY new demonstrator that joins my team in August will receive this complete kit (everything but the ink) and will get to join me and the rest of my team at a special demonstrator ONLY event where we'll create it TOGETHER!

So Grateful for You

Today's card is already on it's way to someone who makes my heart HAPPY!! I'm not sure if she reads my blog or not, but I did tell her the other day (via Facebook) how happy she makes me!

Check this out:

I started off stamping the main image with Basic Black on Very Vanilla, but then I decided that it looked a little too harsh and opted for Always Artichoke - PERFECT!

I used my markers to colour in the little flowers in Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I then added some River Rock to the leaves for a little more colour.

Here's a close up of the pearls:

Love the little details! Can you see the colour spritzing? I love that thing!!! It adds just the right touch.

And a shot of the inside:

Of course you can't see all the mush in there, I wrote it AFTER I took the pictures.

Creative Crew for Christmas in July!!

A few days ago, I got an inbox message on SplitCoast Stampers...which was kinda weird, because I don't spend TOO much time on there - though I should...because there's LOTS of ideas to be had! Anyway...the message was from Patty who said:

We are contacting you because we love your work and would like for you to be on our next round of the Creative Crew which runs from September to December, 2012.

Say WHAT??

Yeah...I was pretty much floored. Someone asked ME to be on a design team? Not the other way around. I was awed, amazed, surprised...and then I cried...happy tears of course!

So...since I haven't been on SplitCoast in a little while,  I thought I should try my hand at the July Creative Crew Challenges which, as you know from the last couple of posts, sport a Christmas theme.

Today's card features the stamp set Christmas Lodge, which was one of my FAVOURITE sets from last year's Holiday Mini and I was THRILLED when it made it's way into the BIG catalogue for 2012-2013. So...you can be sure you'll be seeing a LOT of it!

I wasn't too sure about the sketch for this month, but I think it turned out OK, especially with the rounded corners.

I used the colour spritzer tool on this one - it's perfect for Christmas, plus it makes the Very Vanilla Cardstock look a lot like the Naturals Ivory Cardstock, don't you think? If you don't have this tool yet, I'd consider adding it to your list of must haves.

I finished the inside too:

I'm running REALLY low on Very Vanilla Cardstock (it's arriving in my next order), so I had to make the inside panel a little on the small side. I figure that's OK though because now I have a card to send to someone where I don't have to say too much - LOL!

Christmas Lodge in July

It's been hot enough out there lately that the idea of a Christmas lodge sounds good, doesn't it? Snow falling outside, a fire going, hot chocolate...If you imagine it hard enough maybe it will cool down? Well...we can wish!!

This is another card I did for the Creative Crew Challenge. This one was to use a different kind of fold and I chose a Z-Fold.

My favourite part of the card is the inside detail where I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler DSP using the Scalloped Edgelit and added BOTH pieces leaving a bit of Very Vanilla peaking through.

Christmas in July

Time to feature some Christmas items! Everyone loves Christmas in July, right?

Are you a Stampin' UP! demonstrator? Do you visit SplitCoast Stampers?

Demonstrators have access to a demonstrator ONLY side of SplitCoast where there are business topics, challenges and ideas just for US!

One of the challenges is hosted by the "Creative Crew" each month. This month, the theme is Christmas in July!

I was THRILLED when I saw the new download list for My Digital Studio for last week because it included the "Be of Good Cheer" suite! And it's just PERFECT for Christmas in July!

I found these pictures living in my computer from 2010 and decided to put them onto the pre-designed quick page. I love these for when you only have a few minutes to play.

Find some pictures, pop 'em in, add a bit of journaling and...DONE!!!! Five minutes or less. :)

Stampin' Queens Aviary gets a CCMC Colour Challenge

Another one where I wasn't too sure about the darker red (in this case Riding Hood Red) going well with the lighter colours of So Saffron and Pool Party. And again, I chose it as an accent colour and it worked out perfectly! (if I do say so myself - LOL!).

Here's my card for this week's Stampin' Queens' Sketch:

Since I FOUND the So Saffron piece that I lost from this post, I decided I would use it (that and the fact that it was part of the required colours - LOL!) as the base. Then I added a layer of Pool Party and one of So Saffron DSP.

I stamped the image of the cage using Basic Grey (another required colour) on Whisper White and punched it out using the 1 3/4" circle punch. My nod to Riding Hood Red is the 2 3/8" scalloped circle on which I layered the image.

Yes, I fussy cut the bird again. I couldn't help it! It looks so darn CUTE!!!

When all fails, cut it out!

I stamped that darn cage image FOUR times and I couldn't get it straight! I probably COULD have taken out my stamp-a-majig, but I guess I was feeling particularly stubborn! So...I just cut it out and popped it up on a few dimensionals. It works, right? Then I doodled around the edges using my Pool Party Marker. At least I got THAT right! SHEESH!!!!

Here's the sketch on which the card was based:

Taking a page from the book of Becky

If you know Becky Roberts, you know she makes the most AMAZING note cards! Such attention to detail! I have loved every single one I've seen on her blog.

As you may have heard *giggle* I hosted my first EVER Stampin' Extravaganza on June 23rd. By all accounts, it was a SMASHING success and I can't wait to do it all again on October 21st! It'll be Stampin' Extravaganza - Christmas Edition!

Anyway, I wanted to send off little notes of thanks to all those who attended and helped me make it such a success! So, I designed these:

Yes, they're all blank. Why are they blank? No mass produced notes here! Everyone got a PERSONALIZED hand written message!

I started off with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, on which I stamped the small flower trio from Betsy's Blossoms in Raspberry Ripple. Then I tied a length of Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon around the Whisper White layer and adhered it to the Raspberry Ripple layer. I then stamped the sentiment from "A Word for You" in Gumball Green at the bottom of the card.

Before sending them off, I wrote a note on each one!

And did you see THIS? I got me a shout out at Dynamic Duos for this card! WOOT!

A little Dynamic Retro!

Soooo...I was looking at the Dynamic Duos colours for this week and thinking that I need to get my butt in gear in designing the thank you cards for my bride. She, of course, doesn't seem to be any kind of rush, so I set that thought aside! I did use one of her colours (Pink Pirouette) and then added the Baja Breeze (instead of Certainly Celery).

I altered the sketch a teeny, tiny bit in moving the vertical strip a little more to the left. It just seemed to work better with my stamp set.

I really like the way it turned out...especially with that tiny image from Lovely Little Labels. The BEST part about that set is the MATCHING PUNCHES!

And of course, no card is complete unless the inside is done:

Freshly Made Everything Eleanor for Connie and Mary

Connie and Mary are on their way to the SU! Convention, so the challenge is active for TWO weeks this time around! That means PLENTY of time to play along with these FUN colours! Check it out:

Doesn't that look fun?? I was a little thrown when I saw the Cherry Cobbler in there with the other colours, but then I thought, "DUH! Accent!". And that's just what I did!

I started off with a So Saffron base (which I promptly misplaced and then found AFTER I finished the card *sigh*) and added a piece of So Saffron Designer Series Paper from the Subtles Paper Stack, which I pretty much ATTACKED with my diagonal scoring plate for the Simply Scored. Do you like the pattern??

Before adding my piece of Pool Party Cardstock, I tied a knot in a piece of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and then attached it to the cardstock. It was adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals. Next came the Old Olive layer and finally the stamped image layer.

I stamped the "vine" from Everything Eleanor in Old Olive on Whisper White and then matted it on a piece of Old Olive Cardstock. I then stamped the flowers in Cherry Cobbler and hand cut them (three layers each). They were adhered to the front using glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.

I added Dazzling Details AFTER I took the first picture:

I *think* you can sort of see them in the pic above.

And of course, no card is complete till the inside details are done:

CAS...what??

Earlier this week as I was creating like a crazy person using the AWESOME Dynamic Duos colours, Melissa left a comment on this post thanking me for joining the challenge this week at CASology. You can imagine how that led to a little confusion since I hadn't even HEARD of CASology. Of course, I had to check it out and - FUN!!!

I was able to join in on their FIRST challenge and here's what I created:

I knew I wanted to use a "sun" and the ONLY one I have is from Every Little Bit. I was going to do ALL the suns in Daffodil Delight, but then I decided it would be more fun to do them in different colours. Would you agree?

So, I stamped one in Daffodil Delight, then the next in 1/2 Daffodil Delight and 1/2 Tangerine Tango and so on...

And then, to dress things up a bit, I added the bow from Daffodil Delight Seam Binding.

Since the sun was smiling, I decided to add the sentiment from Petite Pairs.

Too late for Dynamic Duos, but too cute to not share!

OK, so I KNOW I said yesterday was my last Dynamic Duos card. And TECHNICALLY it was, since the Dynamic Duos challenge closed yesterday, but I created this one for a SUDSOL challenge using the Dynamic Duos challenge colours and I just HAD to share!

I started off with a Rich Razzleberry base and added a layer of Old Olive Designer Series Paper from the Brights Paper Stack. These stacks are SO much fun! You get four sheets of EACH colour in the Brights colour family. Forty 12 x 12 pages of DSP for $26.95. You can't beat that!

For my Whisper White layer, I took a large post-it note and laid it across the paper being sure to line it up with my grid paper to ensure the line would be straight. Then I stamped the top of the sheet. I removed the post-it, flipped it the other way and did the bottom.

Then, I lined up my Whisper White again and using a ruler and my SU! markers I drew the lines. Then...I crossed all my parts, took a deep breath and stamped the sentiment from Bring on the Cake WITHOUT my Stamp-a-majig. PHEW! It worked!  :)

I had a little smudge and a bit too much white space, so I added this cute flower punched using the Boho Blossoms Punch. Just as I always tell my class participants, "There are no mistakes, only opportunity for creativity!".

Then, I finished the inside:

It's a dear friend's birthday today, so this went into the mail to her earlier this week. I sure hope it gets to her on time!!!

From my Heart for one last Dynamic Duo

Of course, I STILL had my Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive out from when I created this card on Tuesday and this Stampin' Queens card yesterday, so I just HAD to make yet ANOTHER Dynamic Duo card. :)

The submissions for Dynamic Duo close today, so tomorrow's card will be something different - LOL!

I started off stamping the image from the "From My Heart" set and let me tell you! It was a little tricky! Sometimes even us experts have issues - HA!! I persevered though and got a nice crisp image.

I then decided to add just a touch of Old Olive to the image and coloured in one of the borders around the word "ENJOYING".

Because I cut the paper pretty much to the size of the block (I have this set in wood mount), I needed something to add to the bottom of the card. I opted for ribbon and pearls...then gave the card to DH. LOL! He said he didn't mind the pearls TOO much.

Stampin' Queens meets Dynamic Duos!

Happy Wednesday! It's Stampin' Queens Sketch Day! I still had out my colours from yesterday's card, so I just kept on using them. :)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I moved the circles around a bit and chose the Eiffel Tower for the bottom instead of a third circle.

Don't you just LOVE that little "hello" tag?? I just love, love, LOVE adding tiny details to my card. I think of them as little surprises. :)

Mary Brown CASE get a Dynamic Makeover

I've had this AWESOME card by Mary Brown sitting in my inbox for about a month now and this weeks Dynamic Duo colours seemed like the PERFECT time to CASE the card.

Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive are such a fantastic BOLD and BRIGHT colour combination. I'll probably be using them a few more times this week. *grin*

Since this card is a CASE, I started off with the same colour card base as Mary did, Whisper White. I ran the base through the Big Shot using the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder and then added the second layer of Whisper White which was adhered to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

And you KNOW I had to fussy cut all the bits and pieces that I added to the card, right?? Although...the leaves/bird are not all THAT fussy compared to the little balloon tails on this card from last week.

The finishing touch was the Rich Razzleberry flowers punched using the four petal flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack adorned with Basic Rhinestones.
